Summary:
The Instrument & Equipment Aide serves in a key role to support patient care in Loma Linda University Medical Center.
Ensures patient care equipment and supplies are stocked according to established periodic automatic replenishment (PAR) levels.
Verifies packaging is intact and within expiration dates, equipment has required clinical engineering inspection tags, is clean and stored in designated clean areas and ready for use.
Rounds to all storage and stock areas at designated intervals throughout the shift and ensures adequate quantity of supplies and equipment is maintained.
Works with supplying departments and CH department leadership to adjust PAR levels as needed.
Tracks department-assigned equipment and retains it in department.
When assigned-department equipment is missing, performs a search to locate equipment and retrieves it back to home department.
Removes and tags equipment needing repair or inspection from service and notifies clinical engineering.
Keeps department leadership informed of supply and equipment status and needs.
Assists leadership with maintaining survey readiness at all times.
Keeps hallways and corridors clear of equipment.
Performs other duties as needed.
Education and
Experience:
High School Diploma or GED required.
No experience required.
Knowledge and Skills:
Able to demonstrate organized thought processes.
Able to set up a systemized approach to stocking and maintaining department supplies and equipment; Able to read, write and speak in English (and Spanish preferred) with professional quality; use computer, printer and software programs necessary to the position, e.
