Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist (Mammography)

Independently performs a variety of both General Diagnostic X-ray and Mammography examinations.
Continuously monitors and documents the performance of the imaging equipment dedicated to mammography to fulfill the requirements for the FDA, MQSA, and VHA.
Independently performs screening, diagnostic, appropriate supplemental procedures, breast localization and biopsy exams.
Works under the guidance of the lead to perform Mammography quality control to record, track and maintain data in an appropriate fashion.
Provides corrective actions and troubleshooing, and notifies the biomedical engineer as needed.
Operates a wide variety of imaging equipment to obtain high quality images.
Determines technical factors, set controls and operates equipment ensuring that the portion of the body specified receives the correct calculated exposure.
Properly selects patient's information from the HIS/RIS list on the work stations and verifies patient information prior to making an exposure.
Interprets requests or instructions from radiologist or clinicians.
Along with the radiologist, performs procedures such as cholecystograms, cholangiogram, HSG, loopgram, VCU, GI series, and single and air contrast barium enemas.
Performs and completes imaging studies within the established guidelines for stat, pre-op, urgent and routine exams.
Practices radiation safety in order to reduce exposure to patients, staff and self.
Assists in the annual inspection of the facilities lead aprons.
Reviews new developments in the field and recommends to the lead technologists adoption of those which would improve the operation of the radiology section.
Maintains supplies and cleanliness in assigned work area.
Work Schedule:
Full-Time .
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
